Dr.ย Juliet Guichon
Dr. Guichon is an Associate Professor in the Cumming School of Medicine, University of Calgary, and member of the departments of Community Health Sciences and Pediatrics. A legal and ethics scholar, Dr. Guichonโs most recent book, co-authored with Dr. Ian Mitchell is Ethics in Pediatrics: Achieving Excellence When Helping Children (Springer, 2019). Dr. Guichon has been recognized by national and provincial dental, medical and public health organizations for her work in promoting public health.

Mario Brondani DDS, MSc, MPH, PhD is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of British Columbia. He focuses his endeavours on educating future oral health care providers who are public health minded, and on making prevention and oral health care accessible to all Canadians.

Christian Caron DMD, DMSc, LLB is a Full Professor of Gerodontology at Universitรฉ Laval. He has founded and currently serves as the director of the Centre of Excellence for Oral Health and Aging. He is also the director of specialized training program in Gerodontology at Universitรฉ Laval.

Noah earned Bachelor of Health Sciences (2015-2019) and MSc (2019-2021) degrees at the University of Calgary, studying the role of the microbiota in depression and cancer. Noah then graduated from the University of Cambridge, UK with an MPhil in Population Health Sciences. ย Since 2017, Noah has worked withย Calgarians for Kidsโ Health, and later,ย withย Fluoride Yes!

Violet DโSouza BDS, MSc (Restorative Dentistry), MS (DPH), PhD is an Assistant Professor at the
Department of Dental Clinical Sciences at Dalhousie University. She is a dental public health specialist whose research interests include oral health deficits and frailty in older adults with serious chronic illnesses, specifically cancers, Alzheimerโs disease, etc.

Christopher J. Doig (Chip) is a critical care physician and former head of the Department of Critical Care Medicine in Calgary. He writes, โGood oral health is good health. Bad oral health can affect more than your mouth. You could end up in the ICU. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.”

Dr. Charles Frank is a Past-President of the Ontario Dental Association. He has served on several committees and is a political contact dentist for the ODA. He is a Past-President of the Rotary Club of Windsor-Roseland, Past Grand Knight and a Past District Deputy for the Knights of Columbus. His hobbies include strategic and military board games. He has been an active advocate for Community Water Fluoridation since 2001.

Dreden Gianetto is an undergraduate student studying biomedical sciences in the Cumming School of Medicine at the University of Calgary. He is dedicated to using science as a means to help others.

Seong Eon Ha is a medical science graduate student at the University of Calgary. He is a passionate health advocate, primarily interested in the health issues of vaping and community water fluoridation. He currently also works part-time providing therapeutic services to children with neurodisabilities.

Shauna Hachey RDH, MHS is an Associate Professor at the School of Dental Hygiene at Dalhousie University and Canadian Society for Disability and Oral Health. Fatima Iqbal (BHSc.) is currently pursuing joint medical and masterโs of science (MD-MSc.) degrees at the University of Calgary. Her research focuses on identifying epigenetic markers for tissue-specific injury, and her passion for preventive health led her to join Calgarians for Kidsโ Health in 2018.

Douglas Jamieson, BSc.Eng, MBA, FEC , FGC(Honors), (Retired) had a career of 27 years in City of Calgary Waterworks.ย At various times he was in charge of capital projects, plant operations, research and development of treatment processes. He was instrumental in plant optimizing techniques and evaluating and implementing new treatment technology.

Denise Kokaram, MA, RDH is the Chief Operating Officer of Nationโs Dental, a social entrepreneurial corporation, focused on creating oral health access and equity for all. She is an ardent champion of promoting and providing oral health care within and for priority populations.

is a general dentist who graduated from the University of Alberta in 2016. He currently works in a public health dental clinic in rural BC after working in private practice in Edmonton. Dr. Liu values patient education as a central part of his dental practice and always emphasizes the importance of incorporating fluoride in daily oral hygiene routine.

Belinda Nicolau DDS MSc PhD is a Professor in the Faculty of Dental Medicine and Oral Health Science, McGill University, where she serves as the Assistant Dean of Research and Graduate Dental Education. Dr. Nicolau is also the president of the Canadian Association for Dental Research.

Stacey Page PhD is currently the Chair of the Conjoint Research Ethics Board of the University of Calgary, serving the Cumming School of Medicine and the Faculties of Nursing and Kinesiology. Swetha Rajah, BDS is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Dental Science at McGill University with a focus on global health advocacy and policy. She actively promotes dental health and fluoridation initiatives, aiming to improve accessibility and quality of dental care worldwide.

Zeev Rosberger PhD is a Psychologist and Associate Professor in the Departments of Oncology, Psychology and Psychiatry at McGill University and Senior Investigator at Lady Davis Institute for Medical Research, Jewish General Hospital in Montreal. He has championed the field of Psychosocial Oncology, addressing the needs of cancer patients and their families. Over the past 20 years, he has focused his research on public health matters: cervical cancer prevention, HPV testing, and HPV and COVID-19 vaccines.

Her specific expertise includes economic evaluations, investor relations, government and community relations and corporate communications.

Karen Thomas, MA, Mediaย Studies, MA, Counselling Psychology, is the Community Engagement Manager at the Alberta Childrenโs Hospitalย Research Institute at the University of Calgary. Karenโs work supports the connections between research and community to mobilize knowledge to better serve children, families and communities.

Gerry Uswak, DMD, MPH, Dip (DPH) is a former dean, an is currently an associate professor and clinical instructor at the University of Saskatchewan College of Dentistry. He is also the Registrar of the College of Dental Surgeons of Saskatchewan. His specialty training is in dental public health and has long been a participant in the Canadian fluoridation debate.

Kurt Wilde is an undergraduate student studying Health and Exercise Physiology in the Faculty of Kinesiology at the University of Calgary. He is passionate about the prevention of disease and the use of evidence-based interventions to improve the health of people and their communities.
